Feature a bit of traditional Palestinian art as part of your everyday wardrobe. Our culture, after all, is part of our resistance!

  • A line of poetry by Palestinian poet Tamim Al-Barghouti is featured behind our oud (with little intricate engravings, including some that translate to "the melodies of home"). The poetry translates roughly to: "We die, and the honorable among us multiply. And we confuse between offering condolences [for the grief of passing] and congratulations [for the honor of being a martyr]." We are definitely unversed in creating the best translations, but what this line seems to imply is this: with the death of our martyrs (ex. children under siege in Gaza), the honorable and most beautiful parts of us multiply; or perhaps that those possessing these same qualities multiply. But in the light of tragic death, what can we offer? Condolences for the dead? Or congratulations to them that they moved us to so much more beauty? This is our conundrum.

  • Made of 50/50 preshrunk cotton/polyester.
  • Double needle stitching at shoulder, armhole, neck, waistband and cuffs.
