DESCRIPTION
Feature a bit of traditional Palestinian art as part of your everyday wardrobe. Our culture, after all, is part of our resistance!
- This scarf was designed in-house at Watan featuring an embroidered border of tatreez created to honor Rashida Tlaib's election run. We chose to embroider "Palestine" & "Detroit" on two sides of the kuffiyeh to reference her deep roots in both places. One more side features a mix of cypress trees (trees of life, with the particular design coming from the Ramallah region), birds (Rashida requested birds 😅), and a stylized "D" popular for representing Detroit. On the last side, we embroidered "Rashida" in Arabic.
- Our scarves are produced in partner with a Palestinian studio based in Amman, Jordan. We create in small batches to ensure the quality and sustainability of each piece.
